Nollywood actor and former BBNaija star Saga Adeolu has said he has never experienced what he would call a good onscreen kiss, describing such scenes as awkward rather than enjoyable.
Speaking on the Nolly Icons podcast, Saga said many people wrongly assume actors enjoy kissing scenes, but the reality is often uncomfortable and highly technical. He said actors usually perform such scenes strictly as part of storytelling.
“It is weird having people invade your mouth with saliva,” he said, adding that if he had a choice, he would avoid kissing in films altogether. He also recalled a day on set when he had to kiss four different actresses while filming.
Saga argued that actors should be commended for handling intimate scenes professionally rather than judged by viewers who assume romance on screen reflects personal enjoyment.
His comments have sparked conversation in entertainment circles about the realities of filming romantic scenes and the misconceptions audiences often hold about actors’ experiences on set.
