Nigerian music star Davido has revealed that he is now skeptical about pursuing a career in politics, despite his previous interest and strong political ties.
The singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, made this known during a recent livestream, where he admitted that his enthusiasm for politics has reduced over time.
According to him, his hesitation stems from observing how other celebrities have fared after transitioning into politics. He suggested that many entertainers who ventured into politics did not achieve the same success they had in their original careers, making him reconsider the move.
Davido also hinted at concerns about protecting his legacy and career, noting that years of building his brand and goodwill could be affected by the harsh realities of political life.
This marks a shift in tone for the Afrobeats star, who has previously been actively involved in political campaigns especially in support of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
