Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has once again insisted that he won Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election, maintaining that the official results did not reflect the true outcome of the poll.

Speaking during a recent interview, Obi said he remains convinced of his victory, stressing that the system “decided otherwise” despite what he believes were the actual results.

The former Anambra State governor, who contested under the Labour Party, has consistently rejected the outcome announced by the electoral body, arguing that the election was flawed and did not represent the will of Nigerians.

His position dates back to immediately after the 2023 election, when he and other opposition candidates challenged the results, citing irregularities in the process.

However, the election outcome was upheld through the legal process, with courts affirming Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the duly elected president after dismissing opposition petitions.

Despite these rulings, Obi has continued to publicly restate his claim, keeping the debate around the 2023 election alive as political discussions gradually shift toward the 2027 general elections.
