Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has dismissed claims that she snubbed Fuji star Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent public event, describing the viral video behind the allegation as misleading.
The controversy erupted after an edited clip circulated on social media suggesting Akindele ignored Pasuma during actress Fathia Balogun’s birthday celebration. The video sparked reactions online, with some users accusing the actress of disrespecting the veteran singer.
Reacting to the claims, Akindele denied any rift, insisting there was no snub. In a post on X, she said she saw Pasuma, greeted him and even danced with him, urging people to stop spreading what she described as negative and false narratives.
Longer footage from the event later surfaced showing Akindele and Pasuma interacting warmly, a development many supporters said contradicted the viral claim and suggested the original clip had been selectively edited.
The actress said the controversy was another example of how short, decontextualized clips can be used to stir unnecessary drama online, stressing that there was no disrespect intended toward Pasuma.
