Fresh violence has again hit Plateau State as gunmen launched new attacks, killing two people and leaving others injured in separate incidents.
According to reports, the нападение occurred late at night when armed men stormed communities and opened fire, creating panic among residents. In one of the attacks in Heipang community, three people were shot, and one later died from injuries, bringing the total number of casualties from the incidents to two, while two others remain injured.
In a related incident in Riyom Local Government Area, a 27-year-old man identified as Amos Monday was ambushed and killed by gunmen while travelling between villages, further highlighting the spread of the violence across different parts of the state.
Witnesses said the sound of gunfire caused widespread fear, especially among students living near the affected areas, forcing many to stay indoors through the night.
The latest attacks add to a growing list of violent incidents in Plateau, where communities have continued to face repeated assaults despite increased security presence.
