President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo have commended Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun over the development of the Gateway International Airport.
The leaders gave their praise during the official commissioning of the Gateway International Airport in Ilishan-Iperu, Ogun State, describing the project as a major milestone in infrastructure and economic development.
President Tinubu, who inaugurated the airport, highlighted its importance in boosting aviation, logistics, and economic activities in the South-West, noting that the project aligns with broader national development goals.
Former President Obasanjo also applauded the initiative, describing the airport as a visionary project capable of transforming Ogun State into a key aviation hub.
Similarly, Akpabio commended Governor Abiodun’s efforts, pointing out that such large-scale infrastructure reflects commitment to growth, job creation, and regional development.
The event featured a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony by Tinubu and Obasanjo, alongside other dignitaries, marking the official take-off of the airport project.
The Gateway International Airport is designed as an agro-cargo and passenger hub, strategically positioned to support trade, logistics, and ease congestion from Lagos airports.
