At least two people have been confirmed dead and three others injured following an explosion at a filling station in Plateau State.
The incident occurred in Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area, where an underground fuel tank exploded during maintenance work at a filling station.
According to reports, the explosion happened while artisans were carrying out welding repairs on a leaking underground storage tank. The victims—identified as a welder and his apprentice—were working on the tank when it suddenly ignited and exploded.
Three other individuals, believed to be bystanders at the scene, sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Plateau State Police Command confirmed that the incident was not a bomb blast or terrorist attack, but an industrial accident caused during repair operations.
