Former President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Traditional Prime Minister of Ondo Kingdom, High Chief Simeon Olusola Oguntimehin, has died at the age of 91.
He passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, according to a family statement released through his daughter, Mrs. Omonike Omonubi.
Oguntimehin was widely respected for his dual role as both a top accounting professional and a traditional leader, serving as ICAN president between 1995 and 1996, where he was credited with strengthening professional ethics and reforms in the accounting sector.
Beyond his professional career, he held the position of Lisa (Traditional Prime Minister) of Ondo Kingdom, where he was regarded as a key adviser in the traditional council and a custodian of cultural values.
He also served in public service, including as a board member of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), contributing to governance and anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria.
Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, professional bodies, and traditional rulers, describing him as a man who combined integrity, leadership, and service throughout his life.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by the family in due course.
