Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has revealed an emotional scene in the dressing room after the club’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United, confirming that teenage winger Estevão Willian broke down in tears at half-time following an early injury.
The Brazilian youngster was forced off in the opening stages of the match at Stamford Bridge after pulling up with a suspected hamstring injury while chasing a one-on-one opportunity. He lasted only about 16–18 minutes before being substituted, visibly distressed as he made his way off the pitch.
Speaking after the game, Rosenior admitted the moment was heartbreaking for the player and the squad, describing him as “devastated” and confirming that he was crying at half-time after the setback.
