The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a suspected fraudster for allegedly posing as a football agent and defrauding a victim of ₦11 million.

The suspect, identified as Osagie Destiny Etinosa, was apprehended by operatives of the EFCC’s Benin Zonal Directorate following intelligence gathered through investigations.

According to the commission, Etinosa allegedly operated on Instagram under the handle “@officialking_etto,” where he presented himself as a legitimate football agent capable of securing trials and contracts with foreign clubs.

In one case, he reportedly collected ₦11 million from a victim with promises of arranging trials in clubs in Romania and Bulgaria opportunities that never materialised.

Efforts by the victim to recover the money were unsuccessful, prompting a complaint that led to the suspect’s arrest.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigations, reiterating its warning to the public about scams involving fake agents and overseas opportunities.
