The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) branch, has threatened to embark on industrial action over what it described as the continued failure of authorities to address its longstanding demands.

The union issued the warning during a press briefing, saying that repeated engagements with the university management and government had not produced any meaningful results.

ASUU NSUK stated that key issues affecting its members—including salary arrears, earned academic allowances, promotion entitlements, pension remittances, and funding gaps—remain unresolved despite several appeals.

The union warned that if urgent steps are not taken to address these concerns, it may no longer guarantee industrial harmony at the institution, stressing that members’ patience is running out.

It also called for the immediate implementation of agreed salary increments, payment of outstanding allowances, and improved funding for the university system to restore staff morale and ensure smooth academic activities.

ASUU further urged the Nasarawa State Government to intervene quickly, noting that continued delays could disrupt teaching, research, and the university calendar.

The union reaffirmed its readiness for dialogue but insisted that failure to act decisively could force it into industrial action in line with its constitutional mandate to protect members’ welfare.
