APC chieftain and Ekiti North Senatorial aspirant Ayo Arise has condemned the deadly attack on a church in Eda Oniyo, Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, describing the incident as barbaric and heartbreaking.

Reacting to the attack in which a pastor was killed and several worshippers abducted, Arise expressed sympathy with the victims, their families and the affected community, while calling for urgent action to rescue those taken away by the gunmen.

He urged security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the attackers and prevent a recurrence, warning that continued assaults on worship centres and rural communities deepen fear and insecurity.

Arise also called on government at all levels to strengthen protection for vulnerable communities, saying the attack should not be treated as an isolated incident but as part of a wider security challenge demanding coordinated response.

His statement comes amid growing outrage over the church attack, which has prompted calls from religious and political figures for swift rescue operations and justice for the victims.
