What began as a routine rainfall quickly turned into destruction in Osogbo, as a heavy downpour swept through the city, leaving behind damaged homes, stranded victims, and millions of naira in losses.

The rain, which reportedly lasted over an hour, hit several parts of the city with force, flooding streets and overwhelming drainage systems.

In its wake, the damage was immediate and visible.

Residential buildings were affected, shops flooded, and properties destroyed, with many residents still trying to assess the full extent of their losses. Some victims watched helplessly as water rushed into their homes and businesses, carrying away goods and valuables accumulated over years.

One of the most dramatic moments of the incident involved a truck driver who became trapped after a billboard collapsed onto his vehicle during the storm. It reportedly took the efforts of bystanders to rescue him after being stuck for nearly an hour.

Across affected areas like Ogo-Oluwa and Aregbe, the story was the same destruction, shock, and survival.

For many residents, the rain was not just heavy it was overwhelming.
