The United States has issued an urgent warning to its citizens in Iraq, advising them to leave the country immediately as security risks escalate across the region.

The directive came from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad following a series of missile and drone attacks targeting American facilities and interests. Officials warned that Iran-aligned militias have carried out repeated strikes in key areas, including Baghdad’s Green Zone and regions near major airports.

In its advisory, the embassy made it clear that the situation is highly volatile, stating that Americans who remain in Iraq should “reconsider” due to the significant threat posed by armed groups.

The warning is part of a broader escalation linked to the ongoing conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran. As tensions intensify, attacks have expanded beyond military targets to include diplomatic missions and foreign nationals, raising fears of a wider regional crisis.

Compounding the urgency, Iraq’s airspace has faced disruptions, making evacuation more complicated. Authorities have advised citizens to use available commercial or overland routes where possible.

This is not an isolated alert. The U.S. government has also urged Americans to exercise extreme caution across multiple Middle Eastern countries, warning that the conflict could trigger rapid and unpredictable security changes.
