Fresh political tension has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State following the suspension of a key figure linked to Siminalayi Fubara.

The party’s Ward 4 executive committee in Bonny Local Government Area announced the indefinite suspension of Fubara Dagogo, citing alleged anti-party activities and misconduct.

According to party officials, the decision was triggered by Dagogo’s legal action against the APC. He had approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking to stop the party’s upcoming convention, claiming he was unfairly denied nomination forms despite paying about ₦5.1 million.

The ward leadership described his actions as a violation of party rules, accusing him of:

  • Engaging in anti-party activities
  • Disobeying party directives
  • Making statements capable of embarrassing the party

They stated that his conduct breached provisions of the APC constitution, leading to his immediate and indefinite suspension.

Dagogo, however, maintains that he was wrongfully excluded from contesting for the position of National Vice-Chairman (South-South), insisting that the party failed to issue him nomination forms after payment.

This development adds to the already complex political landscape in Rivers State, where internal party disputes and power struggles continue to shape the build-up to major political events.
