Top political figures, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, alongside Vice President Kashim Shettima, arrived in Anambra State for the second-term inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

The dignitaries touched down at the Chinua Achebe Airport, Umueri, ahead of the swearing-in ceremony, which took place in Awka, the state capital.

Governor Soludo, who secured re-election in the November 2025 governorship election, was officially sworn in for another term alongside his deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, marking the continuation of his administration under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

The inauguration ceremony attracted several high-profile personalities from across Nigeria’s political landscape, including elder statesmen and government officials, reflecting Soludo’s influence and the significance of the event.

The event was held at the Alex Ekwueme Square, where traditional rulers from across the state, as well as political stakeholders and supporters, gathered to witness the ceremony.

Security was heightened across major parts of the state, with personnel from the police, military, and other security agencies deployed to ensure a smooth and incident-free inauguration.

In his remarks, Vice President Shettima, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commended Soludo’s contributions to governance and nation-building, noting his role in fostering collaboration and stability.

Soludo’s second-term inauguration signals continuity in his administration’s policies, particularly in areas such as security, economic development, and infrastructure, as he begins another four-year tenure leading the state.
