Wife of renowned cleric Enoch Adeboye, Foluke Adeboye, has sparked reactions online after revealing a drastic decision she made after giving her life to Christ.

In a resurfaced video currently making rounds, she recounted how her lifestyle changed completely in the early days of joining the Redeemed Christian Church of God. According to her, she had a deep love for fashion and owned several expensive gold items, including jewellery she had already bought for her young child.

However, she explained that at the time, wearing gold and similar accessories was discouraged within the church. Faced with that conviction, she chose not to sell or give the items away—but instead took a more extreme step.

She revealed that she threw all her gold possessions into a lagoon, insisting it was part of her commitment to her faith.

Despite being questioned by others who felt she could have sold or gifted the jewellery, she stood by her decision, stating that anything she believed was no longer right for her should not be passed on to someone else.

She also admitted that she briefly switched to wearing alternative accessories at the time but maintained that she has no regrets about the sacrifice.

The revelation has since triggered mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the meaning of sacrifice, faith, and personal conviction in modern Christianity.
