Four ambulances belonging to a Jewish volunteer emergency service were deliberately set on fire in London in what authorities are treating as an antisemitic hate crime.

The incident happened in Golders Green, a North London area with a large Jewish population, where the vehicles operated by the Hatzola emergency service were parked near a synagogue.

According to reports, masked suspects carried out the attack overnight, setting the ambulances ablaze. The fire triggered multiple explosions due to gas cylinders inside the vehicles, damaging nearby buildings and shattering windows.

Despite the intensity of the explosion and fire, no injuries were recorded, although residents were evacuated as a precaution.

Authorities, including the Metropolitan Police, have launched an investigation and are currently searching for suspects. The incident has been widely condemned, with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer describing it as a “deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack.”

Community leaders also reacted strongly, noting that the ambulances provide life-saving services to the public, making the attack particularly disturbing.

The attack comes amid a rise in antisemitic incidents in the UK and across Europe, heightening concerns about safety and targeted violence against Jewish communities.

At its core, this wasn’t just property damage it was an attack on emergency services and a community, raising serious concerns about hate-driven violence.
