Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully foiled a kidnap attempt and rescued a victim in Plateau State.
The incident occurred in the Jos East Local Government Area, where suspected kidnappers abducted a civilian who had reportedly gone hunting in a nearby village.
According to security sources, troops swiftly responded to a distress call and moved to the scene. On sighting the soldiers, the kidnappers abandoned the victim and fled into surrounding bushes.
The rescued individual was later debriefed, while security forces have intensified patrols and launched efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
The operation is part of ongoing military efforts to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities in Plateau and surrounding regions, where such incidents have remained a major security concern.
The swift response of the troops not only saved a life but also highlights the continued pressure on criminal groups operating in the area.
