Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that the Nigerian leader remains a unifying figure for the South-West region.

Speaking during a meeting with cabinet members, political appointees and party stakeholders at the Government House in Osogbo, Adeleke made it clear that ongoing political tensions in the state would not affect his stance on Tinubu’s leadership or his re-election bid.

“We have no problem with President Tinubu. He is our leader. He represents the South-West,” Adeleke stated, reaffirming his earlier endorsement of the president.

The governor stressed that his administration’s disagreement lies not with the president but with local political disputes within the state, particularly the lingering crisis over the control of local government areas.

Adeleke also reiterated his commitment to supporting Tinubu’s potential 2027 re-election bid, noting that such support is in the best interest of the South-West region and aligns with broader political stability goals.

Beyond politics, the governor used the opportunity to highlight his administration’s achievements and future plans, promising to intensify efforts in areas such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

He also commended residents of Osun for their continued support, especially following recent political shifts in the state, adding that his government remains focused on delivering democratic dividends.

The statement comes amid ongoing political realignments and tensions within Osun State, where disputes over local government leadership have created friction between major political parties.

Despite these challenges, Adeleke’s reaffirmation signals a notable alignment with the presidency, reinforcing Tinubu’s influence within the South-West political landscape as discussions around the next general election gradually begin to take shape.
