The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two men, including a 49-year-old Polish national and a 36-year-old Nigerian, following the discovery of a suspected high-tech indoor cannabis farm in the Apapa area of the state.
The suspects were identified as Thomas Razvickas, 49, and James Chisome, 36. They were reportedly residing at the property where the facility was uncovered.
The discovery was made on Monday, November 2, 2026, at about 8:15 a.m., after police operatives acted on intelligence about activities at the residential property.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said a search of the premises led to the discovery of a sophisticated indoor farming facility equipped for the cultivation, harvesting and processing of substances suspected to be cannabis.
The police said both suspects had been taken into custody and had made statements while providing information to assist the ongoing investigation.
Following the discovery, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, visited the property to inspect the facility, assess the scale of the operation and receive updates from investigators.
Fatai commended the officers involved in the operation, praising their vigilance and use of intelligence in uncovering the suspected drug-production facility.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling drug-related offences and dismantling criminal networks operating within the state.
The police commissioner also urged residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies, assuring the public that the command would sustain its efforts to prevent criminal activities across Lagos.
Investigations into the discovery are ongoing. The police have not disclosed the quantity of cannabis recovered or how long the facility had been operating.
