Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s son, Olujuwon Obasanjo, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general election.

Olujuwon made his position known on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, during a visit to the headquarters of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Abuja. He was received by the movement’s National Coordinator, Sunday Adekanbi, and appointed Special Adviser on Political Affairs.

During the visit, Olujuwon described his appointment as an honour and expressed readiness to contribute to the group’s mobilisation efforts in support of Tinubu’s administration. He commended the movement’s community outreach activities and efforts to promote government policies and programmes.

He also urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to support the administration in sustaining its ongoing reforms. He cited salary payments, infrastructure development and investment opportunities as areas where he believed the government had recorded progress.

Olujuwon further disclosed that he had been a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 2014. He said members of the Obasanjo family were free to pursue their individual political interests and hold differing political views without hostility.

His latest endorsement follows an earlier decision to join the Tinubu Movement for Sustainable Governance Foundation, popularly known as the Tinubu Must Stay movement. At a press conference in Abuja on October 22, he expressed support for policy continuity and argued that the Tinubu administration’s policies needed to be better communicated to Nigerians.

Olujuwon’s support for Tinubu comes amid growing political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election. His father, Olusegun Obasanjo, has publicly criticised aspects of Tinubu’s economic reforms, highlighting a difference in their political positions.
