The party’s Deputy Campaign Spokesperson, Dr Sam Omale, made this known during an interview on Channels Television, where he attributed Obi’s exhaustion to his frequent travels and demanding political activities.

Omale explained that the former Anambra State governor often moves between different locations within short periods, leaving him with little time to rest.

“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” he said.

He, however, insisted that there was nothing medically wrong with Obi, describing his condition as exhaustion rather than an illness.

“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take some sleep. He is fine,” Omale added.

The NDC spokesperson further assured supporters that Obi’s exhaustion would not disrupt the party’s ongoing political activities.

The clarification follows the circulation of social media reports and photographs alleging that Obi had been hospitalised after sustaining a neck injury during a gym session.

However, Obi’s spokesperson, Idris Zekeri, had earlier dismissed the reports as false, insisting that the presidential candidate was in good health and had travelled for an international engagement.

Zekeri also described the circulating photographs as fabricated, maintaining that Obi was prepared to continue his political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The latest clarification from the NDC comes amid growing political conversations surrounding Obi and his campaign activities as parties prepare for the 2027 elections.
