Nollywood actress Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha has announced the death of her father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka.
The actress shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Friday, October 2, saying the loss had left her without either parent, 13 years after the death of her mother.
“My beloved father, Leonard Ndukaife Chukwuka, has gone to be with the Lord,” she wrote, describing him as her “daddy, papa’m, obara’m, my comfort” and a precious part of her life.
Chioma said she was grateful that her father lived a long life and was able to see his children and grandchildren. She added that the family had hoped he would live long enough to meet his great-grandchildren.
Reflecting on the loss, the actress said that regardless of how many years people spend with their parents, they still wish for more time with them.
She also expressed gratitude for the memories she shared with her father, particularly during the later period of his life.
According to Chioma, she initially kept the news private while trying to process her grief before deciding to announce it publicly. She appealed to the public to keep her, her siblings and the entire Chukwuka family in their prayers.
The actress said funeral arrangements would be announced when the family was ready.
She ended her tribute by describing her late father as the “Olowo of Ikate” and writing, “I will always love you.”
