A 48-year-old travel agent, Akiah Edward, has been arraigned before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State over an alleged N6 million visa fraud.
Edward was brought before the court on Tuesday on allegations of obtaining money by false pretence in connection with visa processing.
The prosecution told the court that the defendant allegedly collected the money from a complainant under the pretext of facilitating a visa, but allegedly failed to fulfil the agreement.
The charges against Edward are allegations, and he is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court.
The court proceedings are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the transaction and the parties involved in the alleged fraud.
