President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe.
The President arrived in the French capital on Sunday after spending the first phase of his vacation in London. He was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke, according to visuals released by officials close to the Presidency.
Tinubu departed Abuja on August 30, 2026, for what the Presidency described as a three-week annual leave, with London announced as his first destination before proceeding to Paris.
Before the trip, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the President would remain engaged with state matters during the vacation and continue to receive briefings from senior government officials.
The Presidency had also indicated that Tinubu would return to Abuja after the leave to participate in preparations for the January 2027 general election, following the release of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council list, which named him and Vice-President Kashim Shettima as chairman and vice-chairman respectively.
Tinubu’s arrival in Paris comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with parties and candidates already strengthening campaign structures across the country.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of his three-week vacation to resume official engagements and political activities.
