Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been honoured as a Christian Youth Peace Ambassador by the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN.
The recognition was conferred on Friday during the National Christian Youth Security Summit and Thanksgiving held in Abuja, where YOWICAN highlighted Tinubu’s contributions to peace, youth development and national unity.
Seyi Tinubu was not physically present at the event. The award was received on his behalf by Ambassador Belusochukwu Enwere, the immediate past national chairman of YOWICAN.
In a message delivered on his behalf, Tinubu expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of YOWICAN for considering him worthy of the recognition, describing the award as a call to greater service and responsibility.
He pledged to continue supporting initiatives focused on youth development, peace-building, unity and positive social impact across Nigeria.
Tinubu also spoke about the importance of peace, stressing that it goes beyond the mere absence of conflict. According to him, genuine peace requires justice, compassion, tolerance, mutual respect and a collective commitment to the common good.
He urged young Nigerians to play an active role in building a united country where religious, ethnic and cultural differences are regarded as sources of strength rather than division.
“Together, let us choose peace, promote love and build a Nigeria where every young person can dream, contribute and prosper,” he said.
Tinubu also commended YOWICAN for its efforts to mobilise Christian youths towards responsible leadership, community development, national unity and peaceful coexistence.
He described the organisation’s commitment to empowering the next generation as important to Nigeria’s future and pledged continued support for programmes aimed at strengthening youth development and peaceful coexistence.
The summit also focused on promoting religious tolerance, discouraging political violence and encouraging peaceful coexistence, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections.
