The Kano State Police Command has arrested a woman, Bilkisu Sani, over the alleged killing of her husband, Hafizu Gausu, in Rogo Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was arrested following a report of the incident, with police commencing an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding Gausu’s death.
According to the police, the case was reported after the deceased was allegedly found dead, prompting operatives to move in and arrest the suspect.
The command said investigators were working to determine what led to the incident and establish the roles of anyone connected to the alleged killing.
Sani remains in police custody as investigations continue, while the command is expected to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the death.
The latest incident comes amid renewed attention on domestic-related killings in Kano, following other cases involving alleged attacks between spouses and partners. In one separate case, a Kano woman, Saudat Jibril, was sentenced to death in July 2026 for the 2025 killing of her husband, Salisu Idris.
