The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has said there is no fixed date for its proposed Initial Public Offering, stressing that the final decision on when to list the company rests with its shareholders.

NNPC Ltd. Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Ojulari, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja while speaking at a news conference on the company’s 2025 audited financial statements following its Annual General Meeting.

Ojulari said the company was working towards being fully prepared for a potential listing, while consultants and other relevant parties assess its readiness and outstanding requirements.

“We don’t have a date, but we are working hard to make sure we are ready as soon as we can,” he said.

According to him, NNPC management and its board are responsible for ensuring that all requirements for a listing are met, while shareholders acting on behalf of the country will ultimately decide whether and when to proceed.

He added that the timing would depend on the outcome of the readiness assessment, prevailing market conditions and other strategic considerations.

Ojulari said NNPC had completed an initial diagnostic review to identify gaps in its compliance with listing requirements and was working across the company and its subsidiaries to address them
