The mother of a 13-year-old girl, Adekunle Emanuella Ige, has appealed for help as the search for her daughter continues after she was swept away by floodwaters in Abia State.
Emanuella was reportedly caught up in the flood during heavy rainfall in the state, leaving her family devastated and desperate for information about her whereabouts.
Since the incident, efforts have been ongoing to locate the teenager, with her family appealing to residents, emergency responders and relevant authorities to intensify the search.
Her mother, overwhelmed by the situation, has called on anyone who may have information about Emanuella’s whereabouts to come forward and assist the family in finding her.
The incident has once again highlighted the dangers posed by flooding, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall when rising waters can quickly become life-threatening.
Flooding remains a recurring challenge in several parts of Nigeria, with poor drainage systems, overflowing waterways and intense rainfall often contributing to emergencies.
For Emanuella’s family, however, the priority remains finding their daughter.
As the search continues, the family is urging members of the public and emergency agencies not to relent in their efforts until the teenager is found.
