The Federal Government has called on Nigerians to rally behind Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, popularly known as Soye, as she competes in the final stages of the 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam.
The appeal was made by the Minister of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, in a post on X on Friday, September 4, where she praised Soye for her performance in the international pageant and urged Nigerians to vote for the Nigerian representative.
Musawa said Soye’s emergence as Africa’s Top Model and her qualification for the competition’s Top 40 were significant achievements that had made Nigerians proud.
“Dear Soye, seeing you carry Nigeria’s name with such grace, confidence and purpose on the Miss World stage has made us incredibly proud,” the minister said.
She also commended the beauty queen for using the global platform to showcase Nigeria and draw attention to issues affecting young people.
According to Musawa, Soye’s participation in the competition goes beyond the pageant itself, as she has used the opportunity to promote Nigeria’s culture and advocate for inclusion and youth empowerment.
With voting approaching its deadline, the minister urged Nigerians to participate and encourage others to support the Nigerian contestant.
She said only nine hours remained before the voting window closed, stressing that every vote and point could make a difference as Soye seeks to progress further in the competition.
“Nigerians continue to stand with you. There are just nine hours left to vote, and the window is closing fast. Soye needs every vote and every point matters for the stages ahead,” Musawa said.
She subsequently called on Nigerians to come together, vote and share information about the voting process with others.
