President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on the teachings and virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In a message issued on Tuesday, August 25, Tinubu called on Muslims to embrace values including devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness, saying these virtues remain relevant to Nigeria’s development.

The President also appealed to Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the country, particularly against insecurity and other challenges affecting Nigerians.

He urged Muslim faithful to translate the lessons from the Prophet’s life into their daily commitment to the nation, stressing the importance of patriotism, peaceful coexistence and service to others.

Tinubu further encouraged Muslims celebrating Maulud to extend support and kindness to poor and vulnerable Nigerians, in keeping with the spirit of compassion and selflessness associated with the occasion.

The President’s message comes as Nigeria continues to face security challenges in several parts of the country. His call for prayers therefore focused particularly on peace and an end to insecurity.

Tinubu also urged Nigerians to promote unity and tolerance regardless of religious or ethnic differences, stressing the need for citizens to work together for national progress.
