The management of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has denied reports linking his ongoing legal case in the United Kingdom to alleged drink spiking.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 25, the management and legal team said claims referencing “drink spiking” do not form part of the allegations or charges before the UK court. The team urged the public and media to stop circulating details that are not contained in the actual case.
The clarification comes amid growing public interest in Poco Lee’s reported detention in the UK and his upcoming court appearance. The management stressed that the matter is currently before the courts and should be allowed to follow due process.
The team also warned against treating allegations as established facts, emphasising that Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt,” the management said, urging the public to avoid reaching conclusions before the case is heard and determined by the appropriate court.
The management said the circulation of unverified narratives could fuel misinformation and unfairly prejudice those involved in the proceedings. It therefore appealed to media organisations, social-media users and members of the public to exercise restraint.
Meanwhile, Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed that Poco Lee is scheduled to appear before the court on September 15, 2026, for plea and trial preparation in connection with an assault charge. The court confirmed the date in correspondence with PUNCH Online, although it did not provide further details of the allegations.
The management said further information would be communicated through official channels when appropriate and thanked supporters for their patience.
For now, the drink-spiking claims circulating online remain unverified and, according to Poco Lee’s management, are not part of the charges before the UK court.
