The wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, has spoken publicly for the first time about the allegations surrounding her husband and the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.In a video shared on Ogbonna’s social media page, the woman, whose name was not disclosed, admitted that her husband had an affair with Favour but strongly denied that he raped or killed her.
She said she had been following developments surrounding the case and decided to speak after learning more about the circumstances. She also insisted that she would continue to support her husband despite the allegations against him.
According to her, the relationship between Ogbonna and Favour was an affair and not a case of sexual assault. She maintained that she knew her husband well and did not believe he was capable of rape.
The wife also urged members of the public not to rely solely on social media discussions to determine what happened, stressing that the matter should be allowed to go through the legal process.
“Social media is not a courtroom,” she said, while maintaining that people should wait for Ogbonna to give his own account of events.
The controversy began after Favour, a 20-year-old woman, reportedly travelled from Warri to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna allegedly offered to help her learn how to monetise her social-media platforms and develop her content-creation career.
The Delta State Police Command subsequently arrested Ogbonna following a petition from Favour’s family. Police alleged that he took the young woman to a hotel, where he allegedly raped and physically assaulted her.
Favour later returned home in a distressed state and reportedly told her parents about the alleged incident. She subsequently ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving medical treatment.
The police have said investigations into the matter are ongoing and that Ogbonna would be charged before a court.
