At least three residents have been killed and 10 others abducted after armed bandits attacked Taketsaba village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State.


The attack was disclosed on Tuesday by conflict analyst Bakastine, who reported that the victims included women and babies. Among those killed was Aliyu M. Taketsaba, a Civil Defence officer serving in the Mafara Division. 


A primary school teacher, Tanimu Aliyu Takatsaba, was also reportedly among those abducted during the attack.


According to the conflict analyst, the armed men invaded the community and carried out the attack before fleeing with the abducted residents. He had earlier raised an alarm over the presence of bandits in Taketsaba and surrounding communities, calling for urgent security intervention. 


The latest incident has heightened concerns over the security situation in Talata Mafara and surrounding communities, where residents continue to face threats from armed groups.


The identities of the attackers and their current whereabouts remain unknown. The fate and whereabouts of the 10 abducted residents are also yet to be established.


As of the time of reporting, the Zamfara State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming the attack or providing further details about the casualties and abductions.
