Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a suspected Boko Haram informant who allegedly confessed to monitoring the movements of Nigerian soldiers and supplying intelligence and logistics to terrorists operating in the North-East. The arrest is part of ongoing military operations aimed at dismantling insurgent networks and disrupting the support systems that sustain terrorist activities in the region.

According to military sources, the suspect admitted during preliminary interrogation that he regularly observed troop movements and relayed sensitive information to Boko Haram fighters. He also allegedly assisted the insurgents by providing logistical support, helping them evade security operations and plan attacks against military formations and communities.

The military said the suspect is currently in custody and is cooperating with investigators to identify other collaborators and expose the wider network of informants working with Boko Haram. Intelligence gathered from the interrogation is expected to aid ongoing counter-insurgency operations and strengthen security around military positions in the North-East.

Security authorities have repeatedly warned that informants and logistics suppliers play a critical role in sustaining insurgent activities by providing information on troop deployments, supply routes and operational plans. The military stressed that dismantling these support networks is essential to weakening Boko Haram and preventing future attacks.

The Nigerian Army urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with credible intelligence, assuring the public that operations against insurgents and their collaborators will continue until lasting peace and stability are restored across the North-East.
