The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed September 25, 2026, as the final deadline for the payment of Hajj deposits and registration for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, warning that no intending pilgrim will be allocated a seat after the closing date. The announcement was made by the board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, in a statement issued through the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi.
According to the board, the initial deposit for the 2027 pilgrimage has been fixed at ₦8 million, and all prospective pilgrims are expected to complete their payments and registration before the deadline. Ibrahim-Matawalle stressed that the board would not extend the registration period or make additional seat allocations to anyone who fails to meet the September 25 deadline.
The Director-General explained that the early deadline is necessary to enable the board to carry out effective planning and coordination for the pilgrimage in line with the timetable of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi authorities. Early registration, he said, would also facilitate the timely processing of travel documents, accommodation and other logistical arrangements.
Ibrahim-Matawalle reaffirmed the board’s commitment to conducting a smooth, transparent and hitch-free Hajj operation. He urged intending pilgrims to comply with all registration requirements within the stipulated period, warning that failure to do so could result in the loss of the opportunity to perform the 2027 pilgrimage.
The warning comes as Hajj authorities across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage, with state pilgrims’ welfare boards encouraging early payments to avoid last-minute challenges. Officials say prompt registration will help ensure efficient planning and improve service delivery for pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia next year.
