The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has rejected the outcome of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries and threatened to stage a protest over alleged irregularities.
She made the allegation during a meeting with market leaders and stakeholders in Lagos, claiming that the process was skewed in favour of a particular faction within the party.
Tinubu-Ojo said results from some constituencies—including Mushin II, Agege II, and Ojokoro—did not reflect the actual outcome of the exercise, insisting that some candidates were wrongly displaced.
She warned that if the issue is not addressed, market women across Lagos would mobilise for a protest, urging the party leadership to urgently review the primaries before final ratification.
The Iyaloja-General also criticised internal party divisions, particularly tensions between the Justice Forum and Mandate Group, saying the factions were deepening political conflict within the APC in Lagos.
Her remarks have added to ongoing debates within the ruling party over internal democracy and candidate selection ahead of the 2027 general elections.
