Suspected terrorists have killed five people, set homes ablaze, and abducted several residents in an attack on a community in Niger State.
The incident reportedly occurred when armed men stormed the village, shooting indiscriminately and setting houses on fire, forcing many residents to flee for safety.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers operated for hours without resistance, leaving behind destruction, casualties, and missing persons after the raid.
Sources within the community confirmed that at least five victims were killed, while an unspecified number of residents were kidnapped and taken into the bush by the assailants.
Local authorities have acknowledged the attack, with security agencies said to have been deployed to the area to restore order and begin search-and-rescue operations.
Residents are calling for stronger protection, noting that such attacks have become increasingly frequent in rural parts of Niger State.
