The Lagos State Government has warned Nollywood actress Sarah Martins to stop cooking and distributing food on public roads across the state, cautioning that she could face arrest and prosecution if she continues the activity.

The warning was issued by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who said the actress’ street-cooking charity violates Lagos environmental and public order regulations.

According to the commissioner, while the government appreciates the charitable intention behind the initiative, cooking or trading on roads, walkways and medians poses risks to public safety, sanitation and traffic flow.

Wahab also noted that Martins had previously been cautioned over the same activity last year, but she recently resumed cooking and distributing meals on the streets, drawing attention on social media.

The state government advised the actress to channel her humanitarian outreach through approved locations and proper channels so she can support vulnerable residents without violating existing laws.

Officials stressed that all residents and visitors must comply with Lagos regulations, warning that continued street cooking on public infrastructure could lead to enforcement action.
