Security operatives have arrested 99 suspects during a coordinated crackdown on criminal activities across Ondo State.
The operation involved a joint team of the Ondo State Police Command, the 32 Brigade Artillery of the Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), alongside the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps).
According to the police spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the intelligence-driven operation targeted criminal hideouts, black spots, and flashpoints across different parts of the state known for unlawful activities.
The raids led to the arrest of suspects allegedly linked to armed robbery, burglary, theft, cultism and other criminal offences, while security operatives also recovered items suspected to have been used in criminal operations as well as stolen property.
Authorities said the suspects are currently undergoing screening and profiling, adding that those found culpable would be charged to court after investigations are completed.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, commended the collaboration among security agencies and stressed that joint operations would continue to dismantle criminal networks and maintain law and order in the state.
