A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Gbolahan Yishawu, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s focus on education reform and skills development initiatives.

Yishawu, who represents Eti-Osa Constituency II, said the President’s policies aimed at strengthening technical education, vocational training, and youth empowerment would help tackle unemployment and prepare Nigerian youths for a competitive global economy.

According to the lawmaker, the federal government’s renewed emphasis on skills acquisition programmes, digital literacy, and technical training demonstrates a strategic shift toward building human capital rather than relying solely on traditional academic pathways.

He noted that expanding access to technical and vocational education would create opportunities for young people to become self-reliant, support small and medium-scale enterprises, and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Yishawu also commended efforts to improve educational infrastructure, curriculum reforms, and partnerships with private sector stakeholders to align learning outcomes with industry demands.

The Lagos lawmaker urged state governments and other stakeholders to collaborate with the federal administration to ensure that the benefits of these initiatives reach communities across the country.

He expressed optimism that sustained investment in education and skills development would strengthen Nigeria’s economic resilience and reduce poverty in the long term.
