President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved fresh appointments to strengthen leadership in key federal agencies, naming a new Managing Director for the Sheda Science and Technology Complex (SHESTCO) and appointing board members for the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
In a statement issued in Abuja, the President appointed Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu as Managing Director of SHESTCO, a federal research institution under the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology. SHESTCO plays a strategic role in scientific research, technology development, and advanced laboratory services, including the operation of Nigeria’s nuclear research facilities.
Tinubu also approved the appointment of Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEMSA, the agency responsible for testing, certification, and standardisation of electrical equipment and installations across the country to ensure safety and reliability in the power sector.
In addition, the President constituted the NEMSA Governing Board, appointing members drawn from different geopolitical zones to enhance oversight and regulatory effectiveness. The board includes professionals with backgrounds in engineering, energy regulation, and public administration, reflecting the government’s drive to improve power infrastructure standards and consumer safety.
The Presidency said the appointments are part of ongoing efforts to reposition critical institutions, deepen professionalism, and support reforms in the science, technology, and electricity sectors. The new appointees are expected to assume office immediately and drive policies aligned with the administration’s agenda for innovation, safety, and economic growth.
