The Lagos State Government has announced plans to temporarily shut Apongbon Bridge for six weeks to enable repair and rehabilitation works on the bridge.
According to the government, the closure is necessary to fix failed sections of the bridge and improve adjoining service lanes, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of motorists and ease traffic flow in the area.
During the repair period, motorists are advised to use alternative routes, while traffic management officials will be deployed to control movement and minimize congestion. Road users have also been urged to cooperate with authorities and exercise patience while the work lasts.
The government assured residents that the repair works will enhance road safety and improve traffic conditions once completed.
