Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as Dami Marshall — daughter of Fuji music icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1) — has refuted rumours linking her romantically with Nigerian pop star Asake (Ahmed Ololade).
The speculation began after Dami, who is a lawyer and Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts & Culture to the Lagos State Governor, posted a photo of herself with Asake at a recent public event. She captioned the image “Mr Money and Mrs Money,” a phrase closely associated with Asake’s persona and brand, which quickly sparked online buzz suggesting a possible romantic connection between them.
Addressing the rumours on her Instagram page, Dami made clear that the photo was taken during their first meeting and that there is no dating relationship between her and the singer. She urged social media users not to fall for speculative blog posts seeking clicks, writing, “Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic.”
Asake, who has largely kept his personal life out of the spotlight, has not publicly addressed the dating claims. The singer previously made headlines over his relationships but has not confirmed any romantic involvement with Dami.
Dami’s response has drawn mixed reactions online, with some fans praising her for setting the record straight, while others continue to speculate about celebrity relationships fueled by social media interactions.
