Pilgrims from Jigawa State preparing for the 2026 Hajj have all successfully passed their mandatory medical examinations, state officials have confirmed a key milestone as final arrangements for the pilgrimage gain momentum.

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board announced that the medical screening process, conducted in line with directives from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has been completed and that every intending pilgrim from the state has met the required health standards. Board Director-General Ahmed Labbo made the disclosure while briefing journalists on the state’s Hajj preparations.

Labbo said the thorough examinations were aimed at ensuring that all pilgrims are physically fit and healthy enough to undertake the demanding spiritual journey to Mecca, where millions of Muslims from around the world will gather for this year’s Hajj. He praised the medical team for its work and thanked the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, for providing the resources needed to support the screening exercise.

According to the board, the cost of the medical screenings was fully covered, meaning that none of the pilgrims had to pay for the tests. The state authorities also reiterated their commitment to providing regular updates as preparations progress toward departure.

Officials urged the pilgrims to continue their personal and spiritual preparations as departure plans and logistical arrangements are finalised in the coming weeks.
