The Anambra State Government has commenced the conversion of the old Government House into an innovation and technology hub to drive digital skills development, entrepreneurship and economic growth.
The facility, now designated as the Solution Innovation District, will serve as a central hub for tech startups, innovators, creatives and entrepreneurs, providing workspaces, training facilities and support for technology-driven solutions. The project follows the relocation of government activities to the new Government House.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo, who inspected the site, said the initiative aligns with his administration’s vision of embedding technology across all sectors of the state’s economy. He noted that repurposing the old Government House would help unlock opportunities for young people and position Anambra as a leading innovation destination in Nigeria.
Officials said work is ongoing, with the centre expected to host various programmes aimed at nurturing local talent and attracting investment into the state’s growing digital ecosystem.
