Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have once again eliminated scores of Boko Haram terrorists in coordinated ground and night operations across parts of Yobe and Borno states, as the military intensifies its counter-insurgency campaign in the North-East.

According to a statement issued on February 14, 2026, by the Joint Task Force’s spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the successful operations were conducted under Operation Desert Sanity V, with support from hybrid forces including the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

The statement revealed that troops carried out a decisive night raid around Muktum and Ngirbuwa villages in Yobe State, where they engaged terrorists in a fierce gun battle. During the encounter, several insurgents were neutralised, while others fled with gunshot wounds into surrounding bushes.

Security forces recovered two AK-47 rifles, three motorcycles, mobile phones, and other logistical materials abandoned by the fleeing terrorists. Troops also discovered drag marks and a shallow grave along withdrawal routes, indicating that additional casualties were sustained by the insurgents during the confrontation.

In a separate but related operation along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, troops intercepted fleeing extremists attempting to move supplies across a key corridor. The terrorists reportedly abandoned sacks suspected to contain food and operational logistics, as well as other materials, while escaping under pressure from advancing forces.

Military authorities described the overall security situation in the affected areas as “calm but unpredictable,” stressing that operations would continue to prevent regrouping by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.

The Armed Forces reiterated their commitment to sustaining offensive actions, dismantling terrorist enclaves, and restoring lasting peace to communities affected by over a decade of insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East.
