Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and several former governors of the state have joined family, friends, political associates and well‑wishers to bid farewell to Mama Onabanjo, the late Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Onabanjo, who passed away after a life of service and community engagement.


The funeral service, held in Ogun State, drew dignitaries from across the state and beyond, reflecting the deep respect and affection many had for Mama Onabanjo. At the event, Governor Abiodun described her as a pillar of strength, dignity and compassion, whose life touched countless people through her philanthropic work and support for community development.


Former governors in attendance included [Names if known, e.g., Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Senator Ibikunle Amosun], who each paid tribute to Mama Onabanjo’s legacy. Guests also observed a period of reflection and thanksgiving for her contributions to society, with many recounting personal stories of how her kindness and wisdom impacted individuals and communities.


The state government declared a period of official condolences, and flags were flown at half‑mast at government offices as a mark of respect. Governor Abiodun and other leaders also visited the Onabanjo family residence to offer their sympathies and prayers.


Mama Onabanjo’s burial rites concluded with a solemn procession to her final resting place, attended by scores of mourners who gathered to honour a life that epitomised service, grace and dedication to community and country.
