Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has called out Emmanuel Davies after a copyright claim was placed on a sound used in her movie, Where Love Lives, leading to the loss of revenue from monetisation.
The movie, which was released on YouTube in December 2025, gained massive attention and millions of views within a short period. However, Ademoye revealed that a copyright claim was suddenly filed on one of the sounds used in the film, causing YouTube to demonetise the project and block her from earning from it.
According to the actress, the sound in question was originally created specifically for the movie, and all necessary payments and agreements were made before its use. She alleged that Emmanuel Davies uploaded the same sound on music platforms and claimed ownership, which triggered the copyright system and affected her film’s earnings.
Taking to social media, Ademoye expressed her frustration over the situation, describing it as unfair and heartbreaking. She stated that she is very careful with copyright issues and ensures that every soundtrack used in her projects is properly cleared before release.
She also issued a public warning, demanding that the copyright claim be removed immediately and monetisation restored. Ademoye said she would take further action if the issue is not resolved, stressing that creators should not be punished for work they legitimately own.
The incident has sparked conversations online about copyright abuse, creative ownership, and the challenges filmmakers face on digital platforms. Many fans and colleagues have shown support for the actress, calling for better protection of original content in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
